My research topic will focus on empowering women . How do we transition into the mask we want to become and stop living up to social media standards? My answer is graceful and one step at a time. I've decided to write an Op-Ed piece to help express my thoughts on uplifting, empowering, and helping women find their voice. Women are often viewed as objects but I'm here to change those views, hopefully after reading my paper you will understand that sexism, gender discrimination, and gender power are real and these issues are commonly used against women to silence their voices.
In the documentary Miss Representation we see first hand how mainstream media contributes to women in positions of power and influence in America. I will use this documentary to help support my argument on these issues. During the process of the Research project we were asked to watch two films : Miss Representation and The Mask You Live In. These films provided raw material that would later become useful for our research paper. Later we were asked to do two blog post which I named My Response to Miss Representation and My Response to The Mask You Live In. In this blog post I express how these films affect my being, knowing and doing. We were also asked to reflect on our research project and its process, I titled them Beginning Stages,Half way through and The Finale. Throughout these three different blogs I reflect the direction and message of my paper, I also share my struggles as I try to piece everything together. I explain how I had writers block and shared how some concepts from class helped me get over that hurtle. The last blog was the Finale it was tough but I managed to bring everything together. Gathering all this information along the way helped me write a solid persuasive yet informative essay . I hope from reading my research paper you will become more aware of some of the negative causes/affects social media has on women all around the world, but more importantly changing the way we think . Here I will provide my research paper... I...She...Her...Empowering Females - Draft #1 I...She...Her...Empowering Females- Draft #2
